The Parakeet

London48000Full time

We’re looking for a Restaurant Supervisor to join our talented team at The Parakeet.

Located in the heart of Kentish Town, The Parakeet is an independent public house and dining room. In the front, a lively local pub atmosphere. In the back, an award-winning dining room serving Basque-inspired small plates cooked over coal and fire.

Led by chef Ben Allen, our kitchen has received critical acclaim from The Times, The Evening Standard and more.

But don’t just take our word for it:

As Restaurant Supervisor, you’ll play a key role in delivering brilliant service in our dining room. Working alongside the Restaurant Manager and wider management team, you’ll help lead the floor during service, support and develop the front-of-house team, and make sure every guest receives warm, knowledgeable and attentive hospitality.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced waiter or supervisor looking to develop their leadership skills and take the next step in their hospitality career.

What you’ll do

  • Help lead the dining room during service, keeping the floor organised and running smoothly
  • Set the standard for warm, confident and knowledgeable hospitality
  • Support, coach and motivate the front-of-house team
  • Lead pre-service briefings and help make sure the team is prepared for every service
  • Work closely with the kitchen to maintain strong communication between front and back of house
  • Build your knowledge of our food, wine and drinks offering and share this with the team and our guests
  • Welcome guests, manage requests and confidently handle feedback
  • Support opening, closing and day-to-day restaurant procedures
  • Help maintain consistently high standards across the dining room

What we’re looking for

  • Experience working in a high-quality, busy restaurant environment
  • Previous supervisory experience is great, but we’re equally interested in strong waiters ready to take their first step into management
  • A genuine passion for hospitality, food and wine
  • A natural host who enjoys looking after people
  • Confidence leading and supporting a team during busy services
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • A positive, hands-on approach and willingness to get stuck in
  • Someone who wants to learn, develop and progress within hospitality

Why You’ll Love Working With Us

  • 50% off across all Columbo venues, plus free access to our events and festivals
  • Training and development through the Columbo Academy
  • Clear opportunities to progress into restaurant management
  • Hero of the Month recognition, including a paid weekend off
  • £50 voucher for top drinks seller incentives
  • Employee referral bonuses of £1,000 for Chef or Manager roles and £250 for hourly roles
  • Opportunities for global industry trips for top performers
  • Pension scheme via Nest
